Skydiving

Skydiving is a great way to have fun. Basically, you just jump out a plane and relax! This isn’t good if you are afraid of height, but you can get used to it. Skydivers that are jumping from the higher altitude, can experience a free-fall, it usually last one minute. On 1000metres of altitude, skydivers must deploy their parachute. They land after a couple of minutes. In cases when skydivers are jumping from an altitude of 1000-1500 meters, parachutes are deployed immediately.

A skydiving center is usually located on the airfield. It can be commercial or operate as a club. Aircrafts that takes skydivers up for a fee are: Cessna 172 or Cessna 182 (for individual jumper) and Short SC.7 Skyvan, Cessna 208, de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter and GippsAero GA8 Airvan (for groups). When a skydiver deploys his parachute, he can control the direction and speed by moving steering lines that are attached to the trailing edge of his parachute. He can control his parachute with high accuracy. You saw skydivers that are able to land on a land target! Skydivers have less range, than paragliders, because the parachute generates less lift.

When a skydiver jumps from a plane, at the beginning he doesn’t have feeling that he is falling down. His feel can be achieved when he is jumping from a balloon or helicopter. During their fall, skydivers can reach 190km/h in belly to Earth orientation, and 240-320km/h with a head down orientation. Every person who wants to become a skydiver must pass a serious training. Usually on his fist several jumps, he is jumping together with an instructor.
