There is a corruption in FIFA
According to Switzerland’s authorities, a FIFA official have been extradited to the United States. This person is just one of 7 FIFA officials who were held in Switzerland on corruption charges. According to the Swiss Justice Department, he has been taken to the New York by an escort of three men.
Still, the person is unknown. However, Jeffrey Webb, a Cayman Islands official was against the extradition request from the United States. You should know that Jeffrey Webb was the president of the Central and North American football federation. Also, he is a vice-president of the FIFA. He was accused of accepting bribes. Those bribes worth several million dollars. All of them were linked to the sale of marketing rights.
Richard Conway, a sports news correspondent for the BBC, said that the defendant must be taken in front of a judge as soon as possible. This means that unnamed man will have to be brought in front of a judge as soon he reaches New York. We know that he left Zurich on Wednesday, so we can expect to see him in a court very soon.
The allegations are:
1. Obstruction of justice
2. Money laundering and conspiracy for money laundering
3. Wire fraud and conspiracy of wire fraud
If these charges are correct, the unnamed man can be sentenced to 20 years of prison. We also know that 7 people were accused of the same allegations. However, six of them are still in Switzerland, refusing their extradition to the United States, where these charges were laid. Also, all of them were held because the US Department of Justice requested to. There are 14 former and current FIFA officials who are involved in corruption.
